Rudy — Founder of Wolf Garden

Wolf Garden was born in the Arizona desert by a hunter and outdoorsman who volunteered with one of the most versatile search and rescue teams in the country — Southern Arizona Search and Rescue — and was tired of overpaying for gear, getting burned on sketchy Facebook Marketplace deals, and having nowhere purpose-built for the outdoor community to buy, sell, and trade.

We built the marketplace we always wanted — one that speaks our language, respects our community, and gives hunters, anglers, and hikers a safe and trusted place to do business with each other.

Buying

Is it safe to buy here?
All payments go through Stripe — the same payment processor used by Amazon and major retailers. Your card info is never stored on Wolf Garden. Seller ratings and reviews are visible on every listing so you can see who you're buying from before you commit.

What if the item isn't as described?
You have 48 hours after receiving an item to flag a problem through the messaging system. If the item is significantly not as described, Stripe's buyer dispute process protects you. See our Disputes page for the full process.

How does shipping work?
Shipping is arranged directly between buyer and seller. Once a sale is agreed on, the seller ships the item and provides a tracking number through the Wolf Garden messaging system. We recommend comparing rates at USPS, UPS, and FedEx before shipping. Wolf Garden does not handle shipping directly.

How do trades work?
Trades are completely free — Wolf Garden charges zero fees. You and the seller agree on the trade through messaging, then ship to each other. Both parties pay their own shipping. Simple as that.

Selling

How much does it cost to sell?
Free to list. Wolf Garden takes a 5% fee only when your item sells. No monthly fees, no subscription, no upfront cost.

How do I get paid?
Stripe deposits your payout directly to your bank account within 2 business days of a completed sale.

Can I sell anything?
Outdoor gear only — hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, climbing, archery, optics, and search & rescue equipment. No firearms, no ammunition, no illegal items. Wolf Garden reserves the right to remove any listing that doesn't fit the community.

Renting

How does renting work?
The owner ships the item with a prepaid return label included. You pay a refundable security deposit upfront which is returned when the item comes back in the same condition. Phone verification is required to complete any rental booking.

What if I damage a rented item?
The security deposit covers minor wear. For significant damage, the renter is responsible for the cost of repair or replacement up to the item's listed replacement value. This is agreed to at the time of booking.

Account

How do I report a bad listing?
Hit the Report button on any listing. We review all reports and remove listings that violate our terms.

How do I delete my account?
Email wolfgarden21@gmail.com and we'll remove your account and all data within 48 hours.

What Protects You

Stripe Payment Security
Every purchase goes through Stripe. Your card information is never stored on Wolf Garden. If you pay and receive nothing, you can dispute the charge through your bank or credit card — that process exists and works independently of Wolf Garden.

Seller Ratings & Reviews
Every seller has a visible rating and review history. Always check a seller's reputation before buying. New sellers with no history carry more risk — factor that into your decision.

Secure Messaging
Use Wolf Garden's built-in messaging to ask questions before you buy. Get clarity on condition, shipping timeline, and anything else that matters. A seller who won't answer questions is a red flag.

Report System
Every listing has a Report button. Use it if something looks wrong. We review all reports and remove listings that violate our terms.

Phone Verification on Rentals
All rental bookings require phone verification. This eliminates anonymous bad actors from the rental side of the platform.

What We Don't Cover

He Said She Said Disputes
Wolf Garden does not mediate disagreements between buyers and sellers about item condition, shipping delays, or personal disputes. These go through Stripe's dispute process or are resolved between the parties directly.

Items Not as Described
Wolf Garden encourages honest listings and penalizes bad sellers through the review system. However, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of every listing. Use your judgment, ask questions, and check seller ratings before buying.

Best Practices

Always message the seller first. Check their rating. Read their reviews. Ask for additional photos if needed. Never pay outside of Wolf Garden's checkout. If a deal feels off, trust your gut — the outdoor community has a reputation to uphold and most sellers here are genuine.

Step 1 — Talk to Each Other

Use Wolf Garden's messaging system to contact the other party directly. Most issues — shipping delays, minor condition questions, rental return timing — get resolved in one conversation. The outdoor community is generally straight with each other.

Step 2 — Flag the Issue

If direct messaging doesn't resolve it, use the Report button on the listing. Describe the problem clearly. We review all reports and will remove sellers who are operating in bad faith from the platform.

Step 3 — Stripe Dispute (Purchases Only)

For payment disputes — if you paid for something and received nothing, or received something completely different from what was listed — contact your bank or credit card company to initiate a chargeback through Stripe. This is the proper channel for payment-related disputes and it works independently of Wolf Garden.

You have 48 hours after receiving an item to flag a condition issue before leaving a review. After that window, the transaction is considered complete.

For Rentals

Rental disputes about item condition are handled through the security deposit. The owner documents item condition with photos before shipping. The renter documents condition on receipt. Disputes about damage compare those two records. If there's a genuine disagreement, contact us at wolfgarden21@gmail.com with both sets of photos and we'll help mediate.

What Wolf Garden Will Do

We will remove sellers who receive consistent bad reports. We will ban users who are found to be operating in bad faith. We will assist in rental damage disputes where both parties have provided photo documentation. We will respond to all flagged reports.

What Wolf Garden Won't Do

We won't issue refunds directly — that goes through Stripe. We won't mediate he said she said disputes with no documentation. We won't get involved in trade disputes where both parties agreed to the trade and shipped — those are private agreements.

What We Collect

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and phone number (for rental verification). When you list an item or make a purchase, we collect listing details and transaction information. We use Google Firebase for authentication and data storage.

How We Use It

Your information is used solely to operate Wolf Garden — to process transactions, verify identities for rentals, facilitate messaging between buyers and sellers, and improve the platform. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Payments

All payments are processed by Stripe. Wolf Garden never stores your credit card information. Stripe's privacy policy governs how your payment data is handled.

Cookies

We use standard cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

Your Rights

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing wolfgarden21@gmail.com. We will complete the deletion within 48 hours.
